Goodyear Spring Training Facility

Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) | Goodyear , Arizona
Osborn provided Civil, Structural, MEP, Fire Protection and Technology engineering services for the $7 million expansion of the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) Goodyear Practice Facility in Arizona. The complex includes a 42,750 SF clubhouse featuring major and minor league locker rooms, training and hydrotherapy areas, a weight room, video coaching, classroom and dining areas, as well as administration offices overlooking the practice fields.

The new layout relocated many areas to better suit the spatial relationships of the Indians’ training program. The locker room, weight room, storage area, training room, laundry, kitchen, dining area, coach’s offices, mechanical room and multi-purpose room were all relocated.

Renovations included new and relocated building systems including lighting, plumbing, roof top package units and exhaust fans. Technology included, door access controls and data and security location coordination for owner installed systems. The expansion required all of the building’s utilities and parking area to be relocated. Fire protection services included the evaluation of exterior stand pipe to meet the City’s requirements and design for fire protection for the building addition.

The goal of the training facility, was to give the Indians a state-of-the-art training facility where focus is placed on year-round player development.
