U.S. Army Corps of Engineers | Spangdahlem , Germany
Code 00 and Code 03
Osborn Engineering served as the Civil Engineer for a combined Code 00 & Code 03 Charrette for a new elementary school at Spangdahlem Air Base.

The project team was led by Schenkel Shultz Architects out of Orlando, Florida and worked directly with members of the USACE, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), the 52nd Civil Engineering Squadron, the German Landesbetrieb (LBB), and other various stakeholders on base to develop Conceptual Site Plans, Architectural Programming, Utility Layouts and required Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) standoffs for the proposed elementary school and associated facilities.

The final result of the Code 00 & Code 03 process was a 1391 Cost Estimate that was presented to the US Congress for review and approval. This 1391 has received approval and the next phase of design, referred to as Advance Schematic Design (ASD) began in late Spring of 2017.

Code 02 Advanced Schematic Design
Osborn Engineering served as the Civil Engineer for a Code 02 Charrette for a new elementary school at Spangdahlem Air Base. The project team was led by Schenkel Shultz Architects and worked directly with members of the USACE, the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), the 52nd Civil Engineering Squadron, the German Landesbetrieb (LBB), ICS and other various stakeholders on base to develop Advanced Schematic Design level Site Plans, Architectural Programming, Utility Layouts, Stormwater Management Analyses and required Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) standoffs for the proposed elementary school and associated facilities. The final result of the Code 02 process was an updated project narrative, Advanced Schematic Design drawings and coordination efforts with ICS, our German AE design counterpart, to provide a smooth transition into their final design efforts.

The final design of this project will achieve the equivalent of LEED Silver status.
