The Littoral Warfare Systems Facility at NSA Panama City, Florida is a 45,135 SF, two-story administration and research building providing office, laboratory, and support space. The facility supports command and control associated with the Littoral Combat Ship. The facility includes raised deck computer flooring, SCIF spaces, and is LEED Certified through the USGBC. The building is located on a site currently occupied by seven buildings which will be demolished. Site work included rerouting utilities, new parking lots, site-lighting sidewalks, and equipment staging pads. Environmental considerations included hazardous materials in the demolished buildings, and NPDES permitting – meeting water quality and treatment criteria.

 

The mechanical design included Variable Air Volume (VAV) air conditioning systems, Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) Equipment, Radiant tube heating, and specialized design required for Secure Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF).
