USACE Live Fire Exercise Shoothouse
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville | Fort Campbell , Kentucky
Suhail / Osborn Mentor-Protégé was commissioned by the Louisville Army Corp of Engineers to prepare a Project Definition Report (PDR) for the Live Fire Exercise Shoothouse (LFSH) located on existing Range 44 at Fort Campbell. The Suhail / Osborn team conducted a Design Charrette at the base with all of the stake holders on the project and representatives of the design team. The design charrette validated the project scope presented in the DD form 1391, confirming that a standard design Live Fire Exercise Shoothouse (LSFH) per U.S. Army Corps of Engineers LFSH Design Guide, would meet the needs of the Fort. The project team reviewed the major building systems components, floor plans and site plan options with the users. Where needed the standard building plans were modified as a result of the charrette and a site specific site plan was developed. A design narrative defining the proposed facility was developed and estimating services were provided by the design team to confirm that the budget was adhered to.
