Parkside & Riverview Elementary Schools
Riverside Local Schools | Painesville , Ohio
Osborn provided Civil, Structural, MEP, Fire Protection, and Technology Engineering services for Parkside (K-5) and Riverview (K-5) Elementary Schools. The project was the design of two new elementary schools on separate sites. The project is pursuing LEED Version 4.0 Silver Certification. Both schools were designed utilizing BIM and clash detection for coordination during design. The sites both required stormwater management and on-site sanitary treatment systems which are located in the back portions of the site behind the athletic fields.
The building design incorporated energy recovery on the main toilet room exhaust systems, a high-efficiency boiler, chiller plants with variable speed pumping, LED lighting systems throughout, and kitchen variable exhaust systems. The buildings are integrated into a campus DDC control network available to control all building systems from a remote internet browser.
Osborn also provided Fire Suppression Design Criteria and Fire Alarm System design for both sites. Analysis of local water supply data and hydraulic calculations were performed to appropriately size the incoming fire service and coordinate the location of all fire hydrants and fire department connections with the civil design team. The design criteria drawings included the detailed design of the fire service entrance, room by room hazard classifications, feed the main routing through the building, and full specifications.
