Engineers from Technicolor and ETRI (Korean Technology Research Institute) conducted field tests in the Osborn office to demonstrate the ability of NextGen TV (ATSC 3.0) to deliver various advanced viewing technologies. NextGen over-the-air transmissions from an experimental TV station sponsored by the NAB and the Consumer Technology Association located at WJW (Fox 8) were used for the demonstration.

NAB engaged Osborn to generate and capture a suite of test files to be used to verify compatibility of NextGen receivers with many combinations of resolution, frame rate, color primaries, and transfer characteristics that are specified in the ATSC 3.0 standard.
