HUD Energy Audits with TIG

logo

Through our partnership with The Inspection Group, Osborn has conducted comprehensive energy audits for over 150 Housing Authorities in the last 5 years.  For each development, the audit documented existing conditions of the building’s energy related infrastructure (i.e., building envelope, lighting, utilities, HVAC systems, and domestic water usage), reviewed the facility operating and maintenance practices and identified Energy Conservation Opportunities (ECO) in accordance with the standards set forth in 24 CFR Part 965 and HUD Modernization Standards Handbook 7485.2.

Typical ECO recommendations, based on anticipated energy savings, implementation cost and economic payback, include installing high efficiency lighting and occupancy sensors, retrofitting incandescent exit signs with LED lamps, installing high efficiency motors in hot water pumps and air handling units, replacing existing water heaters, furnaces, condensing units, and boilers with high efficiency models, replacing worn weather-stripping, and installing low-flow shower heads and low-flush toilets.
