Osborn Engineering provided AE services for the rehabilitation of the following ten Cleveland Public Library branches: Addison, Collinwood, Glenville, Harvard-Lee, Langston Hughes, Carnegie West, Fulton, Jefferson, Lorain, and Rockport.
The project consisted of improvements, renovations, and construction for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; renovations to provide handicap accessibility; exterior wall remediation; roofing; exterior site work; and interior renovation and improvements. The outcome provides fully functional buildings that will support the Library’s mission for years to come. Many of the branches’ buildings are approaching a century of use, so preserving the architectural integrity of these buildings was another important aspect of the design process. In providing AE services Osborn was conscious of the schedule, so that no more than one branch on each side of Cleveland (east and west) was closed at any given time.
