Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company
Osborn’s relationship with Goodyear goes back to before the first blimp took to the air. Osborn has had the opportunity toprovide design services for hundreds of projects for Goodyear’s domestic and foreign plants including tire plants, industrial rubber plants and tire test tracks.
Conveyor Belt Plant
Osborn designed a 10,000 square foot conveyor belt technical center. Osborn prepared drawings and specifications for the new facility and office space; assisted with the bidding of the project; and assisted with the selection, layout, and installation of the equipment. The project included wet test areas, a smoke test room and a humidity controlled test room.
Air Springs Tech Center and Office
Office area design included technology, electrical engineering, interior design and HVAC system upgrades, including a central computerized energy management system.
Test Tracks - Vehicle Dynamics Area
San Angelo, TX
Osborn designed the 1200 by 400 foot asphalt test track which included a 3000 GPM water distribution system. The system included a 500,000 gallon concrete storage basin complete with a filtration and chemical treatment system to reduce organic growth in the basin. The basin included a deep well for accommodating the vertical turbine pumps and a weather cover.
Osborn provided consulting services and peer review for the development of a South America Tire Test Facility. This included review of track layouts, asphalt and concrete surface designs, safety requirements, and a review of the soils stabilization requirements.
