Hoover Complex Redevelopment
Osborn Engineering is proud to be providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology, and structural engineering services with TDA architecture for the redevelopment of the former Hoover Appliance Company factory in North Canton, Ohio. The Hoover Complex is a 1.4 million square foot mixed-use campus encompassing 15 buildings on 69 acres. Approximately 550,000 square feet of this complex is being converted into offices, retail, apartments, and parking. The area will be listed on the National Register of Historic Places with Federal and State historic tax credits being sought as part of the overall development package.
The plans include the demolition of an interior warehouse space and its subsequent conversion into a landscaped public courtyard that will be the central focus of the development and will benefit all of the occupants as well as the general North Canton community.
The goal of the project is to attract a wide variety of tenants and reinvigorate a prominent section of the city that continues the tradition of community involvement and support initiated by The Hoover Company over 100 years ago.
The Hoover Complex has already attracted a dozen employers, helping the City of North Canton gain nearly 1000 jobs since 2008.
