Pace University

Ianiello Field House + Athletic Venues
The new 24,000 SF Pace Athletics Field House was a design build project with a physical representation of the strength and innovation of this emerging sports program. This facility and the outdoor venues surrounding it upgrade and reinforce the role athletics plays at the university. The intent of the building per the Campus Master Plan is to be a portal element to the stadium.

The multi-purpose stadium (with artificial turf), adjacent to the Field House, accommodates Football, Lacrosse, Soccer and Club/Intramural Sports. Likewise, the new Baseball Field (with artificial turf) accommodates Baseball and Field Hockey, while the new Softball Field (with natural grass) was designed to add artificial turf in the future. Each venue shares the same design guidelines to match the Field House Architecture with white press boxes, Pace “Blue” seating and field padding. The idea was to create a common language for the new athletic complex.

The building integrated the Video / Scoreboard on the north side of the building and south side of the multi-purpose field. The OSports team added structural steel framing as part of the base building contract documents to provide flexibility for a 14ft high by 25 ft wide Video Board. Also, there is a separate digital scoreboard appropriate for multi-purpose sports games. Further, the 16mm 240x448 RGB LED Video Board will be the finest of its kind in NCAA Division 2 on the East Coast.

Lastly, the new Pace University Athletic Complex by OSports/Andron Construction (Design/Build Partnership) has drawn rave review from all the stakeholders and has created a spike in recruitment. Most importantly, the upgrades have made a major impact on the campus, student life and school spirit.
