CCF Miller Heart Center
This facility is a 1,000,000 SF Heart Center of excellence designed for the Cleveland Clinic. It houses surgery suites, catheter labs, a CVICU, a CCU and Congestive Heart Failure Inpatient and Outpatient treatment rooms.
Osborn (as Wulk Engineering Group) was responsible for the design of all the technology systems including voice/data, cable TV, nurse call, public address paging, intercom, access control, video surveillance, time clocks and audio/visual. The cost of construction for the technology scope was approximately $12 million, excluding the end-users’ computers and network electronics.
The 9th floor of the Heart Center houses one of the enterprise’s secondary data centers, which is 1,650 square foot server facility. Another significant technology space is the 2,400 square foot MDF containing both the data core for the building as well as one of the primary campus nodes, and the telephone services feeding this area of the campus. Both spaces would be considered Tier II based on their design and the Uptime Institutes Tier Classifications.
