Civil Engineer | Florida - Multiple Locations

Osborn Engineering is seeking a Civil Engineer with Entry Level to 5 years’ design experience for our St. Petersburg or Tampa offices. The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager of Civil Engineering and will work closely with the directors, managers, and engineering staff to ensure client’s needs and expectations are exceeded in a timely fashion. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to collaborate with others including internal and external team members. Main responsibilities include project design and plan preparation. Growth in design and leadership ability, dependability, and organizational skills will lead to future advancement into project management responsibilities.

Types of projects include, but are not limited to: master planning, site development, utility improvements, roadway improvements, stormwater management, grading, subdivisions, institutional campus improvements, coastal engineering, and sports fields design. Must be able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • EIT certification
  • PE license (plus)
  • Prior co-op/internship experience (plus)
  • One to five years' experience in Land Development Engineering or similar (plus)
  • Analysis software experience (Sewer, water, stormwater, etc.) (plus)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (plus)
  • Experience with Civil3D, Map3D, GIS, and/or BIM (plus)
  • Excellent technical writing, organization, and communications skills are essential
  • Ability to work on projects with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills


  • Prepare and review construction documents and specifications for civil projects.
  • Prepare/assist with specifications and permit submittals.
  • Research regulatory agency requirements to implement design principals.
  • Document design changes and communications.
  • Assist Project Managers.
  • Assist with review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks.
  • Maintain excellent client relations.
  • Conduct on-site construction observations and shop drawing reviews as needed.
